It's getting the opportunity to ask yourself — and ask Jesus — the questions, and then reconciling the two while you're the objective observer noticing what you're noticing.

Why I started

I was heading into a transition — kind of already in the middle of it. I was ending one career and wasn't ready to just stop living, so the question was: what do I do with the years I have left? I wanted someone neutral to process that with — someone who wasn't just going to tell me what I wanted to hear.

A breakthrough I didn't expect

There was more than one, honestly, especially early on. Learning to get into that space of meditating with Jesus and becoming the awareness instead of just being "me" — becoming the objective observer instead of being wrapped up in myself. It's hard to explain, but it opened up a whole other way of seeing what is and what isn't. Surprising, but incredibly helpful.

What's different now

How I decide what I'm going to do with my life has completely changed. The doubt is gone. The questioning is gone. I used to worry so much about what mainstream Christianity would think of my choices — that's gone too. I feel solid in my decisions now, even when they don't line up with what's considered mainstream, and I'm following exactly what I believe I'm supposed to be doing.

The moment I almost quit

Oh yeah — I wanted to quit. Zach asks really good questions, and he was digging into an area where I already had a band-aid on. I didn't want to take it off, because I knew it would hurt more before it got better. But I knew in my brain this is how it works — you have to go through the yucky stuff before you get to the other side. If I'd been younger, I probably would have quit. I didn't.

Who this is for

I'd tell someone to do it if they're floundering, feel stuck, and actually want to dig in and look at the hard stuff. If you just want to press the easy button, don't bother — I'd love an easy button too, but I've never found one. If your life is starting to feel like it doesn't work the way you're doing it anymore, that's when you should call Zach.
